She has also been nominated for or won nearly every possible award, including the coveted Audie Award for Best Female Narrator, for her emotional, evocative, powerful voice acting. Tavia embodies Astryiah in “Abyssinia,” which follows the story of am’r woman Astryiah and her romantic relationship with Palmina in Prohibition-era Philadelphia, a story drawn from the life of Belasco’s grandmother, as the protagonists aid women seeking abortions in a society unwilling to afford them support and services. Kirkus Reviews describes “Abyssinia” as “a surprisingly romantic love story that will leave readers with tears in their eyes, and a powerful, timely read.”

He has numerous credits as a voice performer in BBC Radio comedy series, and don’t get him started on his hundreds of stand-up, improv, and sketch gigs. Paul brings to life both Scottish am’r Dubhghall and Viking am’r Wulfhram in “Blood Brothers,” a tale which explores their enduring bond forged through centuries of shared battle, love, and laughter. From Kirkus: “All three stories feature well-developed characters, impressive emotional intensity, and a dark, lyrical writing style. A fight scene from ‘Blood Brothers,’ for instance, is described thusly: ‘As he rolled, blood spun out and caught in the twilight like a little whirlwind of garnets.’”
Paul says of “Blood Brothers” that “the action sequences in particular were very immersive and exciting to deliver. Most fun on this gig as a voice guy with lots of accents and dialects, was bouncing around between Noosh’s geeky girl American, Dubhghall’s American voice which lapses into Scottish from time to time, Wulfhram’s Norse accent, and the other voices that pop up. I tried to identify as much as possible with Noosh’s geeky passion. I really tried to get a sense of how the two guys would feel after being alive for so many hundreds of years.”
